2nd 12-weeks - D3W6

Wed, February 22, 2012 – Penny’s Journey Back to Health -  2nd -12-week Extreme Program

6:45 am:  Well I feel better than I did last night.  Had a good night’s sleep but still feeling tired this morning and my hip is quite tight and bothering me :-( .  I’ll work on it when I get to work.  Definitely need to focus on planning my mini-meals and eating healthy.  When I’m feeling tired like this I tend to want to eat crap.  It’s because being tired is a stress on the body and the stress hormones are flooded…the “junk food” stress hormone cortisol makes us want to eat, well, junk.  I WILL NOT be eating junk today!!  TAKE THAT CORTISOL…AND THAT…AND THAT AND THAT!  I’ll show that darn cortisol a thing or two :-)

Goals for today:  same as usual + extra stretching/foam roller for hip.  Making the Body Rebuild Program sample on my mid-day break today…chocolate brownies.  The goal is to make the brownies and not want to eat them all – LOL. I will also be resting/relaxing during my break today so I can get through the rest of the long day…working until 9:30 pm tonight then back in at 7am tomorrow morning.

I WILL get through this busy time as long as I continue my eating plan and daily exercise/stretching and de-stress breaks!

12:15 pm:  At home on my mid-day break.  The good news…I had only planned to do 1x through today’s HIIT circuit because I was feeling so so tired this morning.  As I was doing the workout I felt energized (plus the sunshine is helping – woohoo) so I decided to go through the circuit a 2nd time…AND IT FELT GREAT!!  Glad I forced myself to start the circuit as it really helped :-)

And now the not so good news:  let myself get too hungry this morning (busy with clients) and knew I should have eaten a little something before I left the studio to come home (ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR INNER VOICE OF WISDOM).  So I got home, heated up the egg/egg white veggie scramble from the fridge, added 1/2 avocado and ate it.  At the same time I was making the chocolate brownie sample for tonight’s Body Rebuild Program lesson, and the brownies have a small amount of mini-chocolate chips.  So you know what comes next…my brain hadn’t registered yet that I had eaten (was very low blood sugar and it takes 10-15 minutes for the brain to get the signal the stomach is full)…I ended up eating a couple handfuls of mini-chocolate chips, maybe 1/4 cup total – UGH!  It could have been worse…I forced myself to STEP AWAY FROM THE CHOCOLATE CHIP PACKAGE.  I’m just annoyed at myself for not listening to my inner voice saying “eat the hard boiled egg in the work fridge…you’re too hungry”.  Anyway, it’s a small blip in the day, I will own it and move forward.  Why we must continually test ourselves…if I had that answer I’d be the heroin of the century!!  So now I’m back to focusing on the GREAT stuff from this morning, I pushed through my fatigue and had an AWESOME workout – woohoo, double high five, knuckles, BIG hug to me :-)
